Why MagSafe matters
MagSafe lets you snap on magnetic chargers, car mounts, wallets and battery packs. In Kampala traffic, a magnetic car mount that also charges is a real daily convenience. The 16e cannot use any of these accessories.
Performance and updates
The A19 is the same chip family used in the iPhone 17, with better AI performance than the A18. Because the 17e is newer, it should also receive iOS updates for about a year longer, which helps resale value.
Which one should you buy?
- Buy the iPhone 17e if you plan to keep your phone 4–5 years, want MagSafe accessories, or love the Soft Pink colour.
- Buy the iPhone 16e if you want the lowest price for a new iPhone with 256GB and you don’t need MagSafe.
